In 1993, the company Flying Rhinoceros was formed. Ray Nelson, Mike McLane, Douglas Kelly and Jeff Nuss dreamed of building a company that created educational content for children that was exciting, funny and entertaining. Over the years, Flying Rhino created books, web sites, television shows, animated movies and apps. The company was in business for almost 30 years and during that time so many amazing people used their creative skills to create amazing educational content.

Several years ago a large publishing company licensed the right to sell Flying Rhino Books. One year into that working relationship the original publishing company was purchased by a much larger company. The new owners decided that they were not going to sell the Rhino books moving forward. They didn’t want to pay to store the books and their solution to the problem was to BURN the large inventory of books. Ray, along with several silent partners, purchased the books in an effort to save them from a fiery demise. Those books now sit in a safe and dry storage warehouse and Ray wants to see them get into the hands of children all over the world.

This Website has been created to celebrate the Flying Rhino adventure and to help find a new home for thousands of books!
